There I was-on the stage, with 300 people on the dance floor, 150 of them kids ages 5 to 12. They were closing in on me fast! So how did we channel that energy??
I know-not our primary type of event, but every now and then we do an event like this when we get the chance. We now look at these events as very useful to our business; we get a chance to find out what the kids are listening to and we sharpen up our skills.
The name of the game when it comes to kids dancing now are “participation dances”. Songs such as “Whip/Nae Nae” and “Cupid Shuffle” are great party starters. Kids have like 5 times as much energy as us adult’s right? Well then channel their energy into dancing that they can participate with and actually follow choreographed dance moves. Other artists such as Justin Bieber, Flo rida, and Ellie Goulding and Ariana Grande are artists that the little ones love, and for the most part their lyrics are pretty clean. It is amazing-when you see these songs, you’’ll notice that you listen to a bunch of them too… Sign of the times folks. It is very difficult to get an artist/song these days that are 100% clean; there are plenty of sexual connotations in many of the songs. This is an area that we choose to leave up to the parents and faculty members. Everyone has his or her own definition of “clean lyrics”. So without further delay, here are some awesome party songs for the kids. Enjoy!
