You’ve been to weddings before and no one is dancing….
Your big day has arrived. Lots of things to be concerned about: flowers, dress, future husband-wife, nerves, hair, oh yes-and don’t forget to eat and hydrate! You’re now just about to finish your dinner, grab a drink, and get on the floor. It’s time for everyone to relax and just have fun! “Wait a minute, is my DJ fun?” Does this DJ care about how many people are dancing? I care! Plus he/she is making good money tonight-so there better be some guests on the floor!
So here’s a few tips to getting people on the dance floor without boring you. First, hire a great DJ (like Supersound Productions) for your wedding. Aside from that, the biggest thing you can do as bride/groom to ensure a packed dancefloor is for you and hubby to get out and actually dance with your guests! Yes that’s correct, they are here to celebrate with you. They want to have a good time with you, and that includes dancing with you. Don’t you want to dance, party it up and make it a night to remember?
A few other tips to remember: pick songs with your DJ that people will actually dance to. If you have some obscure or eclectic requests, that’s ok-its’ your wedding. Just remember to also pick some great dance songs for your guests as well. Also, try and talk with your DJ about playing songs from different era’s of music; 60’s, 70’s, current music, etc. Remember, most weddings include guests ranging from their teens and 20’s, to guests in their 70’s and 80’s. Try and get a few songs in there for grandpa, mom, and that crazy 17 year old cousin of yours! Try to find a balance between the songs that you and your husband would like to hear, but also songs that your guests would like to hear as well. Last but not least, relax, celebrate and party!
